The Norwegian Boxer Club's website had grown increasingly complex and outdated over the course of 10+ years, making it difficult to manage and navigate. We conducted a UX strategy overhaul and migrated their site to Webflow, a modern and robust platform, streamlining their online presence. Additionally, we helped the club save costs by transitioning their magazine from print to a digital format, hosted within a member area for active members.

Project Overview

The Norwegian Boxer Club approached us with a challenge: their website, which had been evolving organically over the past 10+ years, had become cluttered and outdated. As one of Norway’s oldest breed clubs, they needed a solution that would allow them to streamline their online presence, digitalize their quarterly magazine to save costs, and provide a better user experience for both members and visitors. Their website's architecture was confusing, with users bouncing between different sections and pages, making navigation difficult and frustrating.

‍Our Approach

1. Conducting a UX Audit:
We began with an in-depth audit of the website to identify pain points and understand the user journey. The existing site had grown disorganized, making it hard to find important information. We also recognized the need for a new platform to support the club’s goals, particularly digitalizing their print magazine and providing a members-only area.

‍2. Defining User Personas & Content Strategy:
With the goal of improving the site’s usability, we identified two primary personas:

  • Dog breeders seeking resources and club-related content.
  • Newcomers to the breed looking to learn about the Boxer and potentially purchase one.

We restructured the content based on these personas, ensuring that the information was easily accessible for each group. A key aspect of this strategy was simplifying the user journey and aligning the website’s structure with the specific needs of these groups.

3. Webflow Migration & Visual Design:
We migrated the site to Webflow, a modern, flexible platform that would allow the club to scale its website with ease and longevity. To respect the club’s history and traditions, we kept the original color scheme but updated the typography for a more contemporary feel—ensuring the design felt fresh without alienating long-time members.

3. Members Area & Cost-saving Transition:
One of the primary goals was to transition the club’s quarterly print magazine to a digital format, saving significant costs in printing and distribution. We created a secure, members-only area where users could easily access the magazine and other exclusive content. This not only provided a seamless user experience but also allowed the club to manage content more efficiently.

The Outcome

The redesigned website is now fully scalable, allowing it to grow and adapt to the club’s evolving needs. It offers a modern, easy-to-manage experience for both members and visitors, while ensuring the club’s long-term sustainability. The intuitive navigation and streamlined user flows make it easier for users to access relevant content, and the members-only area allows for seamless content management and delivery. Additionally, transitioning the magazine to a digital format helped the club save on printing costs, contributing to both efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The redesigned website now offers a much-improved user experience:

  • Intuitive navigation: With streamlined user flows, visitors can easily access relevant content, whether they are new to the breed or seasoned breeders.
  • Simplified content management: The club can now post and manage content with ease, avoiding the clutter that plagued the old site.
  • Member-specific content: The members-only area makes it easy to separate public and exclusive content, with the digital magazine now securely hosted for members to access.
  • Cost savings: Transitioning to digital helped the club significantly reduce costs previously spent on printing and distributing their magazine.
